2008 Programme

HSBC Brecon Jazz is almost here. The response to this year’s anniversary programme has been fantastic.

In the last 4 weeks we have been announcing the details of the Stroller programme. With a very strong line-up of 75 gigs, the Stroller ticket this year is great value for money.

Under the Stroller section we have included the full line-up with times and a short introduction on the artists appearing. Look out for many jazz legends including Liane Carroll, Arnie Somogyi, Keith Waithe, Julian Marc Stringle, Alec Dankworth, Ronnie Johnson, Robin Jones, Derek Nash, Earl Green, Huw Warren, Dave Newton, Clark Tracey, Julian Seigel, Alan Barnes, Don Weller, John Donaldson, Jim Mullen, Art Themen, Dave Green, John Critchinson, Mornington Lockett, among many others.

Just announced is an addition to the Stroller line-up. Julian Joseph Trio will be playing the Market Hall on Saturday August 9 @ 9pm. The line up is
Julian Joseph (piano). Mark Hodgson (acoustic bass) and Mark Mondesir (drums). Virtuoso pianist, bandleader, composer and arranger Julian Joseph will be accompanied by Cleveland Watkiss who is described as “using breathtaking vocal range that makes seamless links between cultures” A great gig not to be missed.

The Stroller programme costs just £48.00 for the weekend (Friday-Sunday) with Day Stroller tickets also available. Look up the Stroller section for a full listing.

We are also pleased that the Street Festival returns this year. With the generous support of the MSS Group, there are free performances in the town centre Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 noon onwards

We look forward to seeing you in Brecon.
